It seems to understand that the pre MS 'groove' had merit that cannot be done away with. As for OpenSource...I would not be so fast to assume this approach benifits the project or end users. I would suggest a base product plus 'market place' features. (I am not alone, when I say I would pay for a product that enhances my work. ) Between OpenSource & say 'Force.com' there is a large gap that the Groove Marketplace could have served.
